APPLICATION - Microsoft Outlook

 
1) Click Tools à Rules Wizard (or Rules & Alerts).

 
2) Click the New (or New Rule) button.


 
3) Under Step 1: Select when messages should be checked, select Check messages when they arrive.

    Click Next.


 
4) For Step 1: Select condition(s), select with specific words in the subject.

 

 
 
Under Step 2: Edit the rule description (click an underlined value), click on the link specific words.

  

 
 
For Specify words or phrases to search for in the subject:, type “SPAM” and click Add.

   

  

Click
OK and then click Next.

 
5) For Step 1: Select action(s), select the move it to the specified folder option.


 
(Delete from server option is not available in Microsoft Outlook).

  

 


 
For Step 2: Edit the rule description (click an underlined value), click on the link specified.

 


 
From the list that appears, select one of the existing folders or click New… to create a new folder.

   

 


Click
OK and then click Next.

 
6) Click Next again for the Are there any exceptions screen.

 

 


 
7) Under Step 1: specify a name for this rule, give a meaningful name for the newly created rule (Ex: SPAM Filter).

    Make sure Turn on this rule is selected and click Finish.

 
 
8) Click Apply then click OK.


    The new message rule will run automatically each time you check mail.
